The Gateway to Majestic Kootenay Lake

Wynndel is a quaint unincorporated village within the Creston Valley in beautiful Southern British Columbia. Our community Centre is the "heart" of Wynndel. We are an active community with a diverse skill set and creative spark, fueled by stunning scenery and a genuine people.

Our Community Centre has a board of directors that meets each month except for July and August. Unless otherwise stated in the Local Calendar, meetings are held in the downstairs of the hall on the first Thusday of the month at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in joining us, the public is encouraged to come out and see who we are and what we do.

  Wynndel encompasses residential homes nestled along the Duck Creek and overlooking the Creston Valley and Kootenay River. Wynndel has an active community that utilizes the Community Centre for regular activities and special events. Wynndel has a vibrant convenience store and gas station. It features a post office, liquor store, and extensive sportsmans supplies. The residents and businesses have fire protection from the Wynndel Lakeview Fire Department. Wynndel has its own municipal water, supplied by the Wynndel Irrigation District with Duck Creek as the source for water and Hubber Creek is an alternate source. The clean and progressive WynnWood Lumber Company is based in Wynndel and provides many jobs to Creston Valley residents. There is also a community church that holds services on Sundays. There are a number of home-based businesses in the area and a variety of farms that enhance our lifestyle. Duck Lake is minutes from Wynndel and has been considered by many to have Western Canada's best Bass fishing. In the winter, Duck Lake provides very scenic ice-skating. The waterfowl are abundant here and we are in the Creston Valley Wildlife Management area. Don't miss seeing the return of swans in the early spring and late fall. Many residents appreciate the close proximity to  Kootenay Lake for excellent fishing and summer water sports. The Kuskanook Harbour Society provides a safe marina for pleasure boaters on the south end of the lake, which is only a 15-minute drive from Wynndel.
